Recipe: Cereal bars for all

The other day I realised we had too much crispy rice cereal left and no cereal bars so I decided to make some. Everytime I try to follow a recipe I end up following 3 and in the end I make it so the recipe I ended up using is based on what I basically had in my pantry. So here it goes:

Ingredients:

-1 cup of porridge oats
-1 cup of chocolate crispy rice cereal (or more depending how chewy you want them)
- a handful of walnuts crushed
- 1/2 cup of honey or maple syrup or golden syrup (I used golden syrup and honey)
- 1/2 cup of tahini or peanut butter (i used tahini)
- mixed dried fruit

Method:

- Heat the golden syrup together with the tahini until it bubbles
- Mix the rest of the ingredients together and place in a tin
- Flatten it down until it is even. Place pan in fridge to let the bars chill/set.
- After about 30 minutes in the fridge, cut them into bars, then wrap them up in foil and store back in the fridge for easy grabbing! These bars make great gifts, too.

Enjoy!!

My art: the imaginary Poppy World

Final work

This is one of my artworks. This was the final product of a long process that was composed of loads of little steps. See below. My intention was to show the imaginary poppy world full of my memories, fears, delusions a bit like a snapshot to my subconscious.

My art: Holiday in Cambodia

Some of my artwork inspired from my trip to Cambodia in 2007. The purpose of the project was to show places/people as they were carved in my memory as opposed to how they looked on the photos. Through this project I wanted to show my feelings when being in certain places as I later recalled them.  Sometimes photos strip the emotion out of them by showing reality as it is/was as opposed to how it felt.

This book is full of permanent and temporary tiny homes and ideas on how to downsize. It is a recent edition and it is full of cozy areas and inspirational people. If you are into this movement this is a book for you. You will have seen some of the images in the book going viral on Pinterest. Here's a few ...

Wooden kitchens

A couple of years ago we decided to move our kitchen and redo the whole room up. We already had some wooden units and some favourite furniture and didn't want a clinical environment. I like bohemian interiors and items with character and I am not big on box standard items so these are some of the dream wooden kitchens I found for inspiration.

Tiny homes ... inside

This is my latest dream...getting a tiny home... I am no minimalist but there is something amazing in creating a house around your needs, as opposed to getting a house built a long time ago for different needs. I don't think I will ever be able to afford my own house plus we don't need a massive house. Anyway these houses can be so creative so take a look at how they might feel ...

Red dress for all seasons

Latest sales purchase from asos. I love red and after all these years I didn't have one that I can wear all the time. I was really lucky when I found this number in the January sales! It is a simple shift with a Ziggy twist that can be work with a thermal in the winter and sans thermal in spring and summer!
